The C-130 Hercules is one of the most widely used tactical transport aircraft of the last forty years. The basic design dates back to the 1950's but the type continues in frontline service. The great and popular features of the C-130 is its operation from unimproved landing strips, its short takeoff and landing characteristics, and the fact that it can carry a wide variety of cargos - from troops to Hummers.

The Boeing 737 was designed as a short range passenger airliner to compete against the British BAC 1-11 and the Douglas DC-9. Featuring a twin engine arrangement with one turbojet mounted under each wing, the 737 also borrowed many components from the earlier 727 which has 3 tail mounted engines. To date, more 737's have been produced than any other passenger airliner and with engine and airframe upgrades, the type is likely to remain in service for many years.
